young adults, and senators gathered in Orlando on Saturday, February 14, 2004,
for Truth in Testing: Parents' Right to Know, an FCAR drive-in conference
culminating in an outdoor rally on beautiful Lake Eola. Co-sponsors were Manatee
RATPACK --Really Angry Teachers, Parents and Activists Coalition for Kids, and

 | On Saturday, March 13, 2004, Sarah Robinson, FCAR's
Pinellas rep, led a session in Clearwater on "Putting FCAT to the Test" at
Parent University, an annual event that draws hundreds of parents. In the
Community Resources exhibit hall of Parent U., FCAR directors John Perry and
Dave Miner, along with a good group of RATPACKers, distributed buttons, Truth in Testing legislative flyers, and FCAR
brochures, and talked to all comers about FCAR. |

Rep. Bill Galvano, left, receives an award at the Feb. 23 meeting of the Manatee County Republican Executive Committee from Dave Miner, a club member and director of the Florida Coalition for Assessment Reform. The award was given to Galvano for his "extraordinary dedication to promoting the education of Florida's children" and his co-sponsorship of the "Truth in Testing - Parents' Right to Know" Act (HB 703) now pending in the Florida House. Some RATPACK supporters gather April 14, 2004, on the Northside of the Manatee County Central Library to promote the “You CAN make a Difference Rally” by bringing CANS of food for giving to legislators and later to charities.
