LCD arms

A sure way to free up the space around your monitor is to use an LCD monitor arm. Although other monitor arms allow you to further minimize the already small footprints of an LCD. And also give you the freedom to position your monitor in an ideal location that best suits your needs, for ergonomic reasons. But their exorbitant price may drill a hole in your pocket as well! That is why the LCD is such an affordable alternative to other monitor arms and can also give you a wide range of movement too, all at an affordable cost instead! Here are a few tips (to supplement with the product manual guide) you should consider when installing your LCD monitor arms for the first time.

The assembly of most LCD arms is very simple and straightforward. The three main parts are the base (and pole), the mechanical main arm and an extension arm. You can get the LCD assembled with or without the extension, depending on your ergonomic needs. Its purpose is just to allow for freedom and an extended reach of movement as well. Depending on the support standard, the dimension of the monitor supported is usually indicated on the LCD monitor arm. There are usually two methods of mounting the LCD monitor arms to the desk. Depending on your desk construction, you can either clamp the LCD monitor arm on your table top or you can drill a hole into the desk and use a mount on the other hand.

Once the base is mounted to the desk, you can then set the height of the arm to the desired level. Usually, some brands come with a ring attached to a pole so as to raise or lower the height of the arm. To adjust the position of the ring, a screw by the side is loosened and then tightened once the ring ideal position is attained! Although the purpose of the ring and screw is to ascertain the arm's height, the weight of the arm and monitor is necessary to prevent the arm from sliding. To confirm this, you can slide the arm up the pole and release it; the arm should stay in place!

After you have safely connected the monitor to the arm, you can now connect the arm to the extension. The whole process of installing the LCD is done! It should not take more than 15 minutes to install except you are drilling a hole. However, if you get confused along the line, you should refer to the manual given at the point of purchase. Happy use!
